Blog Drive-Byes and some Appreciation

As my readers know I suffered a computer melt down which quite overtaxed my 1 brain cell in rebuilding the applications. I lost the write up I was preparing on self-hypnosis and will rebuild it this weekend for posting. I also ran into problems getting back into MyBlogLog as I forgot my password. I sent off a panic note to Robyn Tippins of the MyBlogLog squad and then remembered it (10 min later) and sent another note to Robyn who was already responding to me. So thank you for your quick response Robyn.

Mimi Lenox who I spoke about on a previous Violence and Peace post also has a hilarious site called Profile of the Day which is about humorous statements picked from dating sites and actual personal ads. Every Saturday she holds a Comeback Challenge which I would love to see answers from Ed at  The Pisstakers , Sandee at  Comedy Plus and Bee at Muffin 53.

Jennifer from The Art of Intimacy has a good post I feel Loved When that presents an interesting way to help nurture a relationship.

Marielyn at TinySigns a blog on programming CSS is running an experiment with Technorati and being a new blog could use a little boost from the community.

Darren Rowse from Problogger had a group writer contest last week which generated  893 entries including mine Top 5 Self-Help Myths. Two bloggers picked mine to add to their personal selection for their readers so I would like to thank:

Bill from Fitness health and Diet Tips for including me in his top 5 fitness list.

Maile from Breath by Breath a blog on learning to be happy and who also had an interesting entry titled 5 Ways Criminal Thinking Can Make You Happy.

Blog Drive-Byes for Thinking

First my thanks to Carol from My View of It for nominating me for Best Health Blog. If you agree I would certainly appreciate your vote. Just click on the icon in the sidebar. Carol is up for the Best Political Blog and I am sure she would appreciate your vote.

My funny bone nearly broke today when I went to Comedy Plus blog. Take a look and I guarantee you will leave laughing. mmm I will have to see if I can have it blown up as a poster. Would be great on the wall. Also Comedy+ is up for Best Humor Blog. Please give her a vote.

[UPDATE] I forgot to post about another great humor site muffin53 who is also up for the the Best Humor Blog. I love her blonde jokes and I know you would too. Take a look and give her a vote.

Check out Cecilia, an experience architect at LEGO, on her Digital Digressions Blog. There is a good post on Success is a mindset.

Nelson Tan, an Internet Marketer and fellow MyBlogLog member, has a good analogy from Zig Ziglar about targets on his Mastery of Yourself Blog.

We have at least 3 MyBlogLog members that I have found that do Haiku. Princess Haiku, Rob at Image & Verse, and B.J. at savvyology Blog. They all have interesting Blogs.

Steli from Supercool School has an interesting interview on his Supercool School project.

RT from Untwisted Vortex has a good series on preparing his Blog for for making money from the Philippines and is close to breaking the Technorati 100 barrier. Take a read and help him out and RT was the inspiration for my Blog Drive-Byes so he has a lot of blogs he points to that are interesting reading.

As usual Digital Nomads has great information on living the digital lifestyle. The latest is on Free GizmoCall. Check it out. His Blog Sovereign Rights is up for Best Political Blog and he would appreciate the votes.

And last but not least my favorite tongue in cheek blogger Ed at The Pisstakers has a Sunday post every week featuring MyBlogLog members with prizes.( pound of gummi bears and review) Check out his list and get introduced to some of our fellow members. Remember to show up on Sunday.

MyBlogLog Community

Today's posts are about events in the MyBlogLog Community.

ilker of the thinking blog is running a contest where you review his blog and get entered in a contest for a redesign of your site or a favicon. I had entered and today I found out I have won a favicon (thank you ilker) which should be featured on my blog in the next couple of weeks. The delay is because ilker sent me some questions to answer before he designs the favicon. The contest information is here.

The second community I will talk about today is bloggst. This is a community where information is written by bloggers for bloggers. There are blogging articles, a tag cloud of topics and forums on development, design and code, promotion and advertisement, and monetizing your blog. The information will benefit both new and long-term bloggers. Within 5 minutes I had found information on feeds that I am going to implement right away. Also for a short time they are running a feature where if you post about bloggst on your blog you will be featured on their front page. This is my post for that benefit but also because I think it will good new bloggers like myself as we can post questions. The founder is a member of the MyBlogLog community Lars-Christian and the site is at bloggst. To comment or post on the forums you need to register which only takes a few minutes.
